What's inside the shed?
When a friend pointed out that cake sheds were popping up in other villages and St Margaret's didn't have one, we decided our village deserved better. So we built one, ticked every health and hygiene box along the way, and on opening day people were queuing before the ribbon was cut.
Every bake inside is made in the Ivy Cottage kitchen, the same one behind our afternoon teas and occasion cakes. Nothing bought in, nothing mass made. If it's in the shed, it came out of our oven that week.
At least five bakes, every week
The line-up changes weekly, which is half the fun of a cake shed. Regulars and favourites you might find:

Prices start at £2, so treating the whole dog walk won't break the bank. Each week's bakes go up on Instagram, or just take your chances. That's rather the charm.

We take allergens seriously, and the shed is set up so you can buy with confidence even when we're not standing next to it.

Our food hygiene rating is 5, we're registered with the council and fully insured, and the certificate is on display in the shed.
Where to find us
You'll find us on Kingsdown Road in St Margaret's at Cliffe, right on the popular walking and cycling route between St Margaret's and Kingsdown in White Cliffs Country.
Make a day of it: we're a short hop from St Margaret's Bay, the South Foreland Lighthouse and the White Cliffs themselves. Fuel up before the climb or reward yourself on the way back down.
The shed is step free, so wheelchairs, mobility aids and pushchairs can come right up. If anything's out of reach, we're only a message away.
FAQ's
When is the shed stocked?
Fresh bakes go in weekly, with the line-up posted on Instagram. Popular ones can go quickly, lemon drizzle rarely sees the weekend out.
Can I reserve a bake?
Message us on Instagram or Facebook and if it's in the shed we'll happily set it aside.
Do you take card?
The QR code inside works with your banking app, and bank transfer and cash are always fine.
What if I have an allergy?
Check the full ingredient list on every wrapper, and message us with any questions before you buy. Gluten free and vegan options are available on request.
